Valentine's Mani - part 4

For this one I reattempted my earlier (part 2) mani using different colors. I think this one is definitely an improvement. My oldest daughter picked the colors out. I used Orly Au Champagne again, but this time used China Glaze Harmony and Cherish for the stamp.

Decided to put a matte top coat (China Glaze Matte Magic) over it to see how it looks mattified.

What do you think? Is this an improvement over this one?

Valentine's Day Mani - part 2 (FAIL)

Ok I wasn't going to post this one but figured "Eh, why not!" It "looked" so much cooler in my head. I started off with Orly Au Champagne (2 coats), one coat of Seche Vite, then stamped with Konad Special Polish in red and green using m65. Excuse the crappy lighting, I didn't like it enough to haul out the lightbbox.

I am calling it a FAIL because even though it turned out okay, it reminds me of Christmas rather than Valentine's Day. So, I may try this again later using different colors and maybe it will work better for V-Day.

P.S. If you noticed the band-aid, I got a pretty nasty cut from a fauxnad plate as I was removing the protective plastic cover. I'll be doing a review of those plates soon and will go into detail then.

Week 6 - Half Moon Mani

Ok, confession time. I really don't (didn't) like the way half moon manis look. I really can't explain why I don't like them but I don't. Or at least I didn't. I'm am once again glad that I am participating in this 52 Week Manicure Challenge. Without it I am not sure that I would have done a half moon manicure.

For my half moon mani I used China Glaze Emotion (metalllic pink) and Harmony (metallic purple) for my two main colors. I also used Konad stamping polish in black and the whole nail rose pattern from m65, and Sally Hansen's Celeb City which I dotted along the line with one of my new dotting tools.

I really like it with the konading on one of the colors. I like the black roses on purple, kind of reminds me of some vintage damask pattern!
