Yesterday's Teal Mani

Here's a quick post to show you all what I used in the ovarian Cancer Awareness mani I wore yesterday. I used two coats of Sinful Colors Sweet Dreams, a pale teal with a silver shimmer. Once that was dry I stamped over it with the awareness ribbon french tip image on BM-324 using China Glaze Deviantly Daring. On my accent nail I sponged Sinful Colors Nail Junkie, then hit it all with a coat of Seche Vite.

Mani/Bottle shots:

I also did my toes in a teal glitter nail art polish, Finger Paints Art Hue Feeling Young?, I moved some of it to a small polish bottle for easier application. I topped it off with two coats of Seche Vite, then today I used one coat of Geliah Top It Off UV Topcoat for awesome glass-like shine (also adds durability and I am planning on wearing this for awhile).

More St. Patrick's Day Manis - Part 2

For this St. Patrick's Day mani, I used two coats of Wet 'n Wild Black Creme on all nails. On accent nail, I used two coats of Sally Hansen HD Resolution. On the remaining nails, I used two coats of Finger Paints Flecked (green flakie).

I decided to see how this looked with a matte top coat, I used China Glaze Matte Magic.

I stamped on the accent nail using Konad special polish in white and BM-03. I added white glitter in the form of Sinful Colors Smoking Hot using a dotting tool.

Untried Tuesday: Neeka & Motley

For today's Untried Tuesday I figured I play with one of the two Zoyas I recently got. These are very my first 2 Zoyas! I have to admit that when I ordered Neeka I was expecting a lighter polish, kind of a lighter dusty purple with gold flecks. Although she turned out a bit darker than I expected I still like her, especially as a matte (*Facepalm* I forgot to take a picture of Neeka with Matte top coat). Neeka went on smooth, and was almost a one coater! I went ahead and did two coats. There was no dragging and the formula was perfect! However, she just didn't do it for me in my current mood. I wanted something more sparklie so I contemplated my glitter polish collection, then came across the flakie polishes in my drawer.

I thought that the blue & green flakes in Motley would compliment Neeka's dusty purple quite well. I wasn't wrong although in some of these pictures Neeka appears almost black. Please excuse the crappy clean up job it was 1:30 in the morning.

I really like Neeka with Motley mattified! Technically Motley is an almost untried for me - I swatched it on one nail in an earlier post, but this is the first time I have really used it. I wanted to show you how this looks in the sun, unfortunately my chunk of "sunny" California isn't sunny at the moment. It's overcast and raining! If the sun comes out I'll be sure to snap some pics and upload them!

Finger Paints Special Effects Flakies

Like I was saying earlier I picked up four of the five flakie polishes in this collection and since I am giving away another two (Flecked & Flashy) I figured I'd swatch them. All these picture are taken with a base color of 2 coats of Wet n Wild Ink Well and have no top coat.

For the Love of Flakies Giveaway!!!

So I decided to do a giveaway for the heck of it and traveled down to the nearest Sally's (one town over) and managed to scoop the last two Finger Paints Special Effects Flakies they had. My store didn't get all five only four (no Twisted). I scored all four earlier this month but I have been seeing how had it has been for others to get them. So if you've been having trouble finding them here's your chance to score Flecked and Flashy! Since there really isn't a reason for this giveaway except for flakiness I figured I'd end it on 2/29 to celebrate this year being a Leap Year too.
