Week 10 - Polka Dot Mani

Still trying to play catch up on this year long challenge. Here's last week's challenge of a Polka Dot Mani. This didn't turn out quite how I wanted it or how I pictured it in my head but I still liked it and the longer I wore it the more it grew on me.

For this mani I used 2 coats of Orly Au Champagne then began dotting on Color Club In Bloom (pink), China Glaze Peachy Keen (peach/orange), some unknown Sinful Colors (yellow), Color Club Twiggie (green), China Glaze For Audrey (blue), and Revlon Charming (purple).

I then proceeded to repeat the process on the next 4 rows but moved the first color to the back after each one.

I thought it still needed something so I topped it off with one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust, my favorite ultra fine holographic glitter top coat.

Hope you enjoyed this one! Much Love, The Dragon Lady

Fellow Challengers:

Day 9: RAINBOW nails

I love this mani, makes me really not want to do tomorrows challenge. I went for a sort-of double rainbow, I did a rainbow sponge with Color Club Peppermint Twist (pink),China Glaze Peachy Keen (orange-peach), Lemon Fizz (yellow), Re-fresh Mint (green), & Bahamian Escape (blue), and Sally Hansen No Hard Feelings (purple). Then to make it EXTRA rainbow-y I topped it off with China Glaze Fairy Dust (holographic micro glitter in clear base).

I think that I will definitely be doing this mani again, every time I look at my nails it makes me smile. I just might re-do this for finals week.

**UPDATE** Fixed missing pics and part of post from Day 8: METALLIC nails and Day 7: BLACK & WHITE nails. =)

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving all!

To start I am thankful for my wonderful husband, beautiful daughters, my fabulous mother and all the rest of my awesome family. I am also thankful for my education, a roof over my family’s heads and food in their bellies and my heart goes out to those who don’t currently have those blessings. I am also extremely grateful to all the men and women in our Armed Forces who are out protecting our country. I would like to thank them for their sacrifice (and their families’) and being out there keeping us all safe instead of being able to be with their families.

On to the polish, my Thanksgiving Day mani is two coats of China Glaze Poetic (beautiful peachy foil) , followed by two coats of Nubar 2010 and a coat of Seche Vite. Sorry, it’s a bit pic heavy but I was attempting to capture the different color flashes that the Nubar 2010 adds to this mani.

Closest to actual color of Poetic

Pink on the side, gold on the top, and green in the center.

Shot to show some of the flakiness of the Nubar.

Some of the fire from the flakies are shown here.

I will be doing a Black Friday mani tomorrow, I hope it turns out as well as it “looks” in my head.I also hope to post some swatches and manicures I've done in the past few weeks but haven't had the chance to post yet. I am hoping to "catch up" on some bloggin' during the Thanksgiving break.

Much love, The Dragon Lady
