Easter Mani #1 - Easter Eggs

So for my first Easter mani, I was trying to think of something that symbolized Easter for me. Easter eggs! My first attempt was kind of scary as I really had no plan and was just slapping stuff here and there. It wasn't exactly a fail but I felt the need to reattempt.

My second attempt actually was done with a plan. Polka dot eggs. I used China Glaze Dance Baby, Sally Hansen mellow Yellow, Color Club Twiggie, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, and Revlon Charming.

I dotted one some dots with my set of dotting tools and Milani 3d Holographic nail polish in:Digital,3D, Hi-Tech, Cyberspace, and Hi-Res. I topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Here's the finished result:

Hope you liked it. Much Love, The Dragon Lady

Week 14: Striped Mani

Sunlight

I didn't want some thing mellow for this weeks' challenge of a striped mani. I wanted something sparkly as I have been sick and it's been nasty, extremely windy and rainy for the last several days. Basically I needed a pick me up. So here it is...Glitter + skittles = Glittles! I challenge to say Glittles without cracking a smile! Seriously!! Here's my Glittles striped mani. ;)

Light Box

For this I used one good coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme added 3 stripes with some striping tape, then used 2-3 quick coats of Love and Beauty Turquoise (thumb), Nubar Sky Sparkle (index), Nubar Violet Sparkle (middle), Milani Purple Gleam (ring), and Nubar Star Sparkle (pinky) and quickly removed the tape. Added two coats of Seche Vite to smooth out the stripes and now I can't stop staring at them!

So it worked, this Glittles mani totally picked up my mood but I wish it hadn't turned out so thick! It was raining earlier when I did this mani, so I was super bummed about not getting photos of this in the sun. Then from down the hall I hear my oldest yell, "Mom, grab your camera and go take your pictures...sun's out!" We'll make a nail blogger outta her yet! ;) If you're wondering why there is a white backdrop for these pics too, it's our minivan. LOL!

Sadly, not even those pics in the sun do justice to the sparkle going down on my nails right now. Don't forget to check out my fellow challengers listed below! Much Love, The Dragon Lady

Week 8 - Corset Mani

Once again this year long challenge brings me face to face with yet another manicure I haven't performed. Even though I had never done a corset mani, I knew exactly what I was going to do. I styled this mani after my favorite corset (hubby's fav too)!

Light box

I used Sally Hansen Insta-dri Petal Pusher, Milani One Coat Glitter Blue Flash, free hand nail art with brush and Wet n Wild Black Creme, and stamped with Konad special polish in black and using m3 (small bow) and m71 (full nail design). I had a blast with this mani (even htough it didn't com out quite as I wanted).

If you are trying to figure out what is on the top of my middle nail, well it was SUPPOSED to be cleavage. Yup, I said cleavage. I have an ample supply of it normally and abundant supply when corseted but nail art wise, I ain't got S%!#! LOL

This mani is uber glittery and I feel I nailed (pun intended) the pattern of my corset pretty well but I definitely want a do over and will be trying this type of mani again to see if I can't perfect my technique a bit. Hope you enjoy!

P.S. If you noticed my destroyed cuticles, that's what happens when you play with polish, remover, do yard work, and forget to properly moisturize and perform hand care because you are too tired. It will take awhile to undo what 2 days without care did. =(

*Updated* Week 2: French Tip Mani

I originally posted this mani last night. You can see it here. I can't believe how sparkly this is in the sun, so I just had to add some pictures. I also felt it needed something so I decided to add some konad to it. Here it is with the heart tip design from m73 using black Konad special polish.

This was so sparkly it reflected off my skin. CRAZY!!

So what do you think? Hit or miss with the "tattooed tip" (as my hubby called it)?

Week 2: French Tip Mani

Sorry for the late post. Dryer stopped working this morning, which is, of course, laundry day. I mean it won't even turn on!! *FACEPALM* So I sat down with my trusty computer geek toolbox and dismantled it, cleaned out the lint residue with a vacuum, fixed the loose wire I believed to be the issue and reassembled it. Truth time...does it work? First try! OH YEAH!! Looked at my middlest daughter who is always saying, "I can't do it." I said look at that, mommy fixed it. First time I ever opened up a dryer too. Then I asked her what would have happened if I'd have said, "I can't do it." She replied, "It'd still be broken and I wouldn't have clean clothes for school." I hope she learned something there.

Then I helped the hubby clean the yard and porch area, took all day and destroyed my hands and nails. So that required some hand and nail repair and care.

So at 12 minutes to midnight I give you my Week 2 French Tip Mani. Very simple, very quick, and very sparkly. This was two coats of Milani One Coat Glitter in Blue Flash on the tips. It coated in one but was still a bit thin for me so I did another. I also did two coats of Seche Vite.

I can't wait to see this in the sun tomorrow!

Here are the others doing this 52 week challenge:

I also hope this whole "I can do it" attitude from fixing the dryer rolls over into tomorrow's weight loss challenge. I am still really looking forward to it. Speaking of which, time to go weigh in and head to bed.
