I know I just finished a giveaway just a few days ago but as many of you know October 3rd was Dragon Lady Nails' 1 year Blogoversary. It also happens that 9th was my birthday and the 11th was my middlest daughter's 10th birthday. October also holds my most favorite holiday as well, Halloween. So how's about this....starting today and going until Halloween, the DragonLadyNails Happy OctoBlogoBirthdayWeeniVersary Nail Art Contest and giveaway. Yes, nail art contest and giveaway. I thought it'd be fun to try something new with a nail art contest.

The Nail Art Contest Rules:

1. I will accept entries up to midnight (my time) on October 31st. Not sure of what my time is? Check the little clock on the far right between "Contact" and "Followers".
2. No more than one entry per category - yes, this mean you can submit one Halloween mani and one October/Awareness Mani
3. Nail art/Manicure must be done on an actual hand (can be yours or someone else's hand) - sorry no just painting a set of fake nails and taking a picture.
4. You can use stamps, paints, polish, tools, decals, etc - just remember to list what you used.
5. The entry MUST be your own manicure/nail art - no stealing someone else's!
6. Be original! - Please feel free to use a mani from your own blog post or one that you have taken pictures of before.
7. Please stick to your skill range - the point is so everyone has a chance!
8. I will post entries with associated info (no email addresses and real names) but the description/title, category, etc.

Update and more

Sorry I've been missing for a few. I got a nasty summer flu right after I posted my giveaway and was down for a whole week. I have been frantically trying to get caught up with all my college coursework since then. Basically, trying to find my balance. I will be picking the winners for my 1000+ follower giveaway after class tonight and hope to have them contacted soon after.

We are going  to do something kind of different today as well...

Now a little about my Zoya's. I don't have many...only 2 at this very moment. I currently own Ivanka and Neeka. Yes, I know I total suck at being a blogger at the moment! I have left you all hanging on who won my 750+ Follower Giveaway. Life caught me up with vacation, family, the flu, and my new intern job. So this post is to let you all know I FINALLY waded through all 6,136 entries...WOW! And narrowed it down to 6,008 valid entries...and yes, I have finally picked a winner. The winner, Danielle, has been emailed as of moments ago and has 48 hours to respond before I pick another winner.

200-500 Follower Giveaway Winner #1

The all 5 of the winners of my 200-500 Follower Giveaway have been chosen! The first winner has been emailed! **Pauses while you all go check your email** I will give a 2 hours head start on mailing out the second winner's email so the first has a chance to respond and choose their prize. If I hear back from the second winner before the first has chosen, I will just match winner # to prize #. Winner #1 will get Prize #1, Winner #2 = Prize #2, etc. This is all dependent on the first winner responding quickly...no pressure. LOL!

I am also working on a few Easter themed manis and a review on for Swatch or Review Saturday. So I am working on those between emailing winners. I will say though that I had to choose a total of 10 names before I got my 5 qualified winners. When I pick a name I check the following: GFC follower or not, and email (the 2 mandatory options), then I check the winning entry option (like tweet URL or whatever). Five winners were disqualified for not being GFC followers or possibly not putting the correct follower name, I'm not sure. Bummer.

Giveaway update

Sorry it took so long, but I have finally finished checking the entries from my 200-500 follower giveaway. Out of 5559 entries, only 4237 were valid entries. Before you bust out your calculators, that’s 1322 entries removed. Most of you didn’t have any invalid ones, a handful had only 1, but there were 28 people who got all their entries disqualified because they just clicked enter over and over and didn’t actually do anything else or weren’t a GFC follower, etc. Also for those of you with blogs, please leave blog posts, sidebar posts, giveaway page posts, etc up until you see the giveaway results post from the blogger doing the giveaway. Some of us have lives, kids, school, work, etc. and cannot get around to checking these things on the day the giveaway ends. I had to delete a handful of entries because the post was gone – no proof, no entry. Bummer.

It’s been a rough week at school, and I have been at it all day checking entries, so I am beat. I will be picking and emailing the 5 winners first thing in the morning so be watching your emails. I will post winners after I have heard back. I am still trying to decide how to dole out prizes: either first winner gets first choice & so on or first winner gets first prize. I guess it will depend on which winner I hear back from first. If the first winner emails me back right away I will let them pick if I hear from everyone else first then it’ll be the second option I guess.

I am already putting together my next giveaway to celebrate 750 followers (only 11 more to go) and I hope to get in an Easter mani or two tomorrow.
