Color Club Harp On It

This is what I was wearing yesterday, I can't get over how much rainbow-tastic holo-goodness thee Color Club holos have. I bought this collection in Dec during my polish hiatus and grabbed up the newest one from Amazon as soon as they were released. I have been waiting to "play" with these for MONTHS!

These are 2 coats with one coat of Seche Vite. Enough talking...onto the holo spam.

These are definitely worth the price, easy application and gorgeous! Need I say more?

Week 14: Striped Mani

Sunlight

I didn't want some thing mellow for this weeks' challenge of a striped mani. I wanted something sparkly as I have been sick and it's been nasty, extremely windy and rainy for the last several days. Basically I needed a pick me up. So here it is...Glitter + skittles = Glittles! I challenge to say Glittles without cracking a smile! Seriously!! Here's my Glittles striped mani. ;)

Light Box

For this I used one good coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme added 3 stripes with some striping tape, then used 2-3 quick coats of Love and Beauty Turquoise (thumb), Nubar Sky Sparkle (index), Nubar Violet Sparkle (middle), Milani Purple Gleam (ring), and Nubar Star Sparkle (pinky) and quickly removed the tape. Added two coats of Seche Vite to smooth out the stripes and now I can't stop staring at them!

So it worked, this Glittles mani totally picked up my mood but I wish it hadn't turned out so thick! It was raining earlier when I did this mani, so I was super bummed about not getting photos of this in the sun. Then from down the hall I hear my oldest yell, "Mom, grab your camera and go take your pictures...sun's out!" We'll make a nail blogger outta her yet! ;) If you're wondering why there is a white backdrop for these pics too, it's our minivan. LOL!

Sadly, not even those pics in the sun do justice to the sparkle going down on my nails right now. Don't forget to check out my fellow challengers listed below! Much Love, The Dragon Lady

Untried Tuesday - China Glaze Full Spectrum

Quick post today...
So for today's Untried Tuesday, I grabbed one from my new haul. China Glaze Full Spectrum - kind of a purple holography metallic polish. I truly don't have anything like this. I tried two coats of Full Spectrum over two coats of Bonita Chrome My Nail (not a typo on my part - that's what the bottle says).

I had a real problem catching the purple shine to this polish on the nail. It looks more like the bottle shot in real life.

Untried Tuesday: Nubar Star Sparkle

For this week's Untried Tuesday I chose Nubar Star Sparkle. I have been wanting to swatch this since I got it a few months ago but for some reason kept passing it over for something else. I'm not sure why. This is 2 coats over my frankened nail treatments. Probably would have been completely opaque in 3 or 4 coats. This had so much sparkle I was wishing the was sunlight here. The formula on this was very smooth, I wish more glitters went on this easy.

Fav or Franken Friday

Sunlight
For this Fav or Franken Friday, I wanted something sparklie today as it was the first time I really saw the sun this week where I'm at. I chose to use 2 coats Color Club Worth the Risque (a fav) and top it with one coat of my franken, Love @ First Sight. So I guess this week you get both a fav and a franken. I liked how this turned out but I wish the holo of Worth the Risque was a little stronger.

Revlon - Blue Mosaic

Once again, since I am giving away some Revlon polish to one lucky winner in a few days I thought I show you some Revlon polishes. Here is Blue Mosaic (I am giving away her twin, Radiant) - two coats layered over Color Club Worth the Risque. I topped this with one coat of Gelous and one coat of Air Dry (same brand as Gelous). I love how glitter looks over holos!

Week #1: "Make it Sparkle" Mani

I did these two manis for NYE and New Year's Day. I am still wearing (probably until this afternoon) the one from NYD. I am using this as my Week 1 post for the 52 Week Challenge.

New Year's Franken

This is what I wore (and am still wearing) for this new year. This is a franken I made on NYE with multiple sized silver hex glitter, and multiple sized holo hex glitter, as well as some micro holo glitter. I decided to call it, Resolutionary. I can't wait to try layering it.

This is two coats of Resolutionary with no base coat and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

I'll have some New Year's resolutions and more to post tomorrow.

*******EDIT******
I am making this my Week #1 post for the 52 Week Challenge, see the post here.

Happy New Year's Eve

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year's Eve and hope everyone has their resolutions all lined up. I know I don't, LOL! Anyways, here is my last mani of the year, my blingy silver holo glitter extravaganza. I used Sally Hansen Celeb City as my frosty silver foil base color (can see it on my accent nail), then I dipped my nails in some unnamed tub of ultra fine silver holographic nail glitter. Then 2 coats of Seche Vite to encase the glitter and smooth it out. I cannot describe how sparkly this looks in the sun in real life. These picture only capture about a tenth of the sparkle. I used small black beads from a Bundle Monster nail art wheel set for the 2012 and yes, it was a pain in the you-know-what. Enjoy!

See you all next year and as always...
